Just a woman that has many books to read and many books to be bought and just to have books. Oh the books that have yet to be read by me!
What's up peeps and how are ya?! I hope you all are doing awesome and enjoying the last bit of summer! I am well to be honest a bit annoyed at the moment, because this is my second attempt at writing this review. I lost my first one and dummy me forgot to save it! YAY!!! SHEMURR! But, I'll get over it in a bit...not really no! I had it sound so good and then, my computer decided to be an itch and erase everything! I am going to go "camping" this weekend and by camping I mean be in a camper...no tents lol! I'm looking forward to doing that! Anywhoozles, today I have a review yay!!! It is "Twenties Girl" by Sophie Kinsella! Let's jump in shall we!
The story focuses on a woman name Lara, whom has a lot to deal with. Her best friend/business partner ran off to GOA and so Lara is stuck running the business alone, but with some help from her secretary. On top of that her "perfect" boyfriend dumped her. And, to top even that. She sees the 23 year old version of her dead great aunt Sadie, whom seems to be in 1920's wear. Life is just going peachy for her. Sadie stayed behind for a reason, she needs help finding her dragonfly necklace! And, Lara is the only one who can see her and help her out. Together these two polar opposites will have to set out and find Sadie''s necklace and Lara can have her peace. But, with a price, both women, have to help each other out with some crazy requests and they end up discovering a lot about each other.
I will be honest, at the beginning, I was really annoyed at Lara because she so badly wanted to get back with her ex. I wanted to go up to her, shake her, and say "are ya dumb?!" a few times. I did feel bad for her because she had to run the business herself and not having much experience with what she signed up for. Sadie, is basically my favorite character and although there were times she did annoying me. I couldn't help but like her; she's just so funny and witty. Also, she seems to know what she is talking about when it comes to certain things. There are other characters as well that seem to make this book even more entertaining to read. There is Lara's parents and sister: Her mom is a major worrier, her dad just want his daughter to be doing well, her older sister is a know it all. Let's not forget her Uncle and his family! Her Uncle is a shameful rich know it all, his wife...well I don't really know, her cousin...spoiled as ever. Then, there is the new possible love interest name Ed, who seems to be sweet, charming, and serious.
All in all, I really did enjoy this book! I liked how Sophie added really amazing details about the 1920's and building the dynamic between Lara and Sadie. The two did learn a lot about each other, and in the end Sadie learned a lot about what really happened in the past!
Well, that's all I got for you all! I hope you awesome nerds are enjoying your reads and the last bit of summer. I will be back next week with a new post. Until then!
Hey everyone and how are you? I hope you all are doing amazing. I'm doing pretty good myself, been keeping myself busy doing laundry, watching The Magic School Bus (yes, my childhood) and waiting for Game of Thrones to start. Well, this is my final update for BoBs week! It's been a heck of a week and I'm happy to have finished this week. I am so looking forward to the next one. I had a blast with the challenges and I just love updating you all about what's been going on with my reading.
So, I did start another book last night called "Hunting Season" by Nevada Barr. I only got two chapters into it, but it's not to bad so far. I'll let you all know, when I get around doing a review. Well, since this the last day of BoBs, we actually get a free day of no challenges. Which is kinda a bummer not having one, but sometimes it's nice to have a break! I would like to encourage you all to join in one day and see what the fun is all about. I love that I found this read-a-thon! I needed an excuse to try to lower my TBR, because I still have a lot of books to get through!
Well, that's it for me for today and for the read-a-thon. I hope you awesome nerds are enjoying your reads and getting in some sun! Enjoy your week and I'll be back later!
what's up world and how are you?! Are you awesome, because I know you all are! I'm doing pretty awesome myself! So, today I finished reading "Twenties Girl" and it turned out to be a pretty good book! I haven't been reading anything else today, I will admit I have been lazy today, because it's pretty cool out and there is no sun! I guess that since Fall is coming the weather has decided to do whatever it wants! But, before I go onto today's challenge, I want to say that my heart and positive vibes are being sent down to Texas, where Hurricane Harvey has hit pretty hard and I hope everyone is okay and are being safe. I do have family down in Texas as well, I really do hope that everyone is fine and staying safe as well! Today's challenge seems is a pretty cool one. The challenge is called Love to Hate and you just have to choose a character or more, that you just can't stand! Some of you know how I am when it comes to characters that I just cannot stand. I am pretty brutal when it comes to my opinion! I do have characters that I just can't even with them the only thing is, trying to remember all of them lol! But, I will try!
Let's see there are:
The Xes (excluding the boys) and other bad parents from The Nanny Diaries and Nanny Returns
President Snow from the Hunger Games
Caroline Bingley from Pride and Prejudice
The headmaster, Jane's aunt and cousin from Jane Eyre
The sister-in-law from Sense and Sensibility
That's all I got for this list, believe me when I say I have a longer list. If I can remember that list lol! So many books I have read!
Well, that's all I got for you awesome nerds! Tomorrow, I will of course be back with my last update, since tomorrow is the last day of BoBs! Until tomorrow!
Hey everyone and how's it going? I hope you all are doing Fantastic, I'm not doing to bad myself! Well, I am back again with an update and a challenge. So, after I have finished updating you all yesterday, I actually read a bit more of "The Count of Monte Cristo" and I'm still liking it. I have been continuing on as well with "Twenties Girl" and today it got better and I was liking what I was reading. Still, a bit of craziness, but I am about seven chapters away to finishing it! Ok, so onto today's challenge it's really interesting and I get to knock out one thing. And, that is a book review challenge. That's it, I have to share a book review and what a cool thing to do. So, as promised, I proved to you a book review. I will be giving you all a review on "The Undomestic Goddess" by Sophie Kinsella!
The story is about a woman name Samantha Sweeting who is a high power lawyer and a workaholic! She's awesome at her job, she doesn't let anything get by her. Until, one day she realized she had made a pretty huge mistake and she ends up having a meltdown and walks out of work and heads to he middle of nowhere. She ends up at a house to hopefully get a glass of water and direction. But, the owner of the house mistakes her for being apart of an interview to becoming a housekeeper! Now, Samantha finds herself doing something that she never does and that is cooking and cleaning!
I fell in love with this story and it's characters. Sam is pretty funny when she tries to figure out how to open an ironing board and doing the laundry. Her employers Eddie and Trish are quite strange, funny, and down right laughable. Sam's love interest Nathaniel is a total sweetheart and is swoon worthy, and not to mention really awesome at his job! His mom Iris is amazing, kind, sweet, Jill of all trades, patient, and takes on any challenge that comes her way (aka Sam in general.) This story is light-hearted and funny, I didn't know what I was going to expect when I dove into the book. Despite some people that you really want to knock out, this story had me laughing a whole lot. The chemistry between Sam and Nate is adorable and I was rooting them on the entire time. Iris had become my favorite character and I too wanted to learn how to cook and sew from her. I pretty quickly figured out why Sam seemed to have "made" a mistake while at her old job. And boy, that one was a bit of a douche move on someone whom Sam trusted so much. All in all I enjoyed this book 100% and I would recommend this to anyone into comedy romance. And, a fan of Sophie Kinsella!
Well, that was a fun challenge right. It is different and I'm glad that someone had thought of this. I hope you all get a kick out of my impromptu review! I hope you awesome nerds/bookworms are having fun reading! And, I will be back tomorrow with yet another update and challenge.
What's up peeps and how are you all?! I hope you all are doing awesome. I'm doing pretty good I've been having a lazy day today and of course doing some reading! This book is going to take me well into the end of the read-a-thon. I'm having a hell of a time getting pass the almost ridiculousness that is going on, but I'm enjoying it thou. I have quite a bit to read and I still haven't been reading "The Count of Monte Cristo" which I think I will after this. So, that is my quick update! Here, is the challenge of the day, it's called "If You Like This, Try That" which is of course offering up a recommendation of what you should try to read. Here we go!
If you like things that go bump in the night, ghosts, and a bit of mystery, then try reading "Dead House" by Dawn Kurtagich!
If you like sweet romantic men, things go crazy, and trying to figure out how to open the damn ironing board, then try reading "The Undomestic Goddess" by Sophie Kinsella
Well, that's all I have, I could honestly have kept on going if my brain would work just a little bit faster lol! That's all folks for today! I hope you awesome nerds are having an amazing time and I will be back tomorrow for yet another update and challenge!
Hey everyone how are you?! I'm doing fantastic! I just had one heck of a day of awesomeness!!! I will later explain! But, today is the third day already of BoBs and holy crap we four more days left! I am reading a new read and that is "Twenties Girl" by Sophie Kinsella. I am six chapters into this book and so far it's not to bad, I do want to smack some sense into the main character, but it's still worth the read! Today, for our challenge we had to do a book rainbow spine pic and well for the first time, that this has been around as a challenge. I actually did it and I will share now:
There is my great attempt at this thing lol! So, yeah sorry it's not a longer update, but I'm happy to be keeping you all up to date! I hope you awesome nerds enjoy your reading time and I will be back tomorrow!
Hey everyone and how's it going? I am doing pretty awesome at my end! As always I have an update and a challenge to share. Well, I'm nearly done with "The Undomestic Goddess" and it's really awesome. I hope to get around doing a book review on it once I'm done. I was really pleasantly surprised at how caught up I got into this book. But, on to the challenge of the day!
This challenge is called a synopsis rewrite and here is what I would have to do! Yes, I got it straight front the site itself, because ain't nobody got time for that lol! Here we go!
For this challenge, all you have to do is rewrite the synopsis of a book from another character's point of view. Make it their story instead. If you post on social media, be sure to use #synopsisrewritebob20 to share.
Example: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone
There are all kinds of courage
When Hermione Granger got her letter from Hogwarts, her whole world changed. She’s sure it will be the experience of a lifetime and she’s determined to make the most of it. All she has to do is study hard, learn everything she can, and absolutely stay out of trouble.
Two out of three aren’t bad, right?
When her new friends uncover a plot to unleash a terrible evil on the world, Hermione will have to marshall all her wits and know-how to stop it in its tracks. After all, what’s the point in being the smartest girl at school if you can’t use it to save your new-found friends?
See how fun! So, now onto me to do my own!
The Hunger Games
"So this is my fate! I have been chosen and no one is sticking up for me!"
This is what Peeta Mallark thought as he walked up to the stage to face his doom. But, with the courage of a girl who took her sister place! Peeta knew he had to do, whatever he can to survive and save the girl whom he had loved for as long as he can remember! Who will be left standing?! Him or the one he loves!
Okay, so not the best in the world! I could probably think of something so much better! Well, that's it from me for a BoBs update! I hope you awesome nerds have a great rest of the week!
Hey everyone and how are ya? I hope you all are doing awesome! Like promised I am here to do a quick update of my day. I almost forgot that it was Bout of Books week, but I quickly remembered. So, I started in on my reads; I started reading "The Undomestic Goddess" I've read four chapters so far and it's going pretty good. So, we had a challenge and that was to introduce ourselves in six words. Mine was "A woman in book world wonder" that's all I could think of! Well, that's all I have I know it's not a longer post, but I'm just getting started. I hope you all are having an awesome day and night and I'll be back tomorrow!
What's up peeps? And, how are you all? I am doing great and I'm back with a new post YAY!!! To tell you that next week is Bout of Books week YAS!!! I am participating in my 12th BoBs read-a-thon which is an awesome thing to still be apart of! So, all next week be on the look out for my week worth of adventures during this awesome time.
I am going to share that I will still be reading "The Count of Monte Cristo" because it's a long one and holy world it's a crazy one to get through. It's still a really awesome read so far thou! But, I will not be reading just that! I will be reading two other books at the same time as reading this lovely book. Those two books are: "Twenties Girl" and "The Undomestic Goddess" both by Sophie Kinsella.
I just hope I end up enjoying these books, because I had a touch time getting through the first two books of the Shopaholic series, because I just couldn't with the main! But, they weren't to bad.
So, that's all from me for today! Hopefully, I will get to many more books during this week and month, because "The Count" is going on and on. A lot of craziness is soon to come! Until next week. Have an awesome day and night nerds!
Hello everyone and how are you all?! I know I know I have been gone for quite sometime and I have no excuses, but laziness and operation get life together. But, enough about me I am here to do an update of this here book I am reading.
This is the very first time reading this book, I have seen a movie (2002 to be exact) and read a retelling of this story called "The Count of Monte Cristo as Retold by Sherlock Holmes" by Holy Ghost Writer I enjoyed both.
I am 28 chapters into this book out of 117 (crazy I know!) and I am loving this book. Edmond has suffered for to long, the entire time I was reading this book all I could think of is the musical version of Les Mis! (Yeah, a musical geek!). You know that a story is going to be quite interesting and really good, when right off the bat you meet a character that you are gonna despise and that is the character of Danglars. Oh and two others that of Mercedes cousin Fernand and that darn lawyer person (who ever he is suppose to be I don't care) M. de Villefort. Yeah, they are on my list!!! (Fictional BS Characters)
But, this book so far has really taking over my mind when it comes time to read it. I get so caught up into Edmond's world, that it feels like I am living his world. The chapters of this e-book are pretty short and go by really quick, most especially when you get into the book. I don't remember based on the movie and the retelling on how it ended, but I am looking forward to it again when it comes time.
I am going to end here or else I will just ramble on and on about this book!
I hope you all are having a great day & night and I will be back again at some point lol!
Hey everyone! I know it's been a hot minute since I've been on here and there really is no excuse for it. I have gotten lazy again! But, some good things have been happening and I am planning on doing a lot! Getting back on here is one of them. You will have to give me a bit and focus not only on this blog, but, another one, and some personal stuff that I will share later on! So, be prepared for posts about books and maybe a little of about me! So, stick around to see what I got!!!
Hugs to you all!!!
Hello everyone and welcome to the 5th day of the 19th BoBs Read-a-thon of this book world!!! Hey everyone and how's it going? I hope you all are doing well. I'm doing pretty good, just been reading and on youtube a lot lol! So, today of course I bring you updates yay!!! And, I'm pretty proud of myself for getting around to reading and finishing two e-books today. Well, I finished "Steampunk Fairy Tales" today and I decided to start on my next read which is "Kellie's Diary" and I finished that pretty quickly. So, yeah I knocked three more books from my TBR. I am hoping to get around starting "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea", this book has been a mission for me to actually get around to starting it. But, I'm going to start it once I get off of here! The e-books were really interesting to read and I wouldn't mind keeping up on reading the series for both of them. For today's challenge, well I am putting up a white flag, because I am not doing it. The challenge is to crate a rainbow from the spines of the books you own. Well, I don't have many books that have such a colorful spine. So, yeah I sadly have to not participate in this one. Well, that's all I got for you all today, I'll be back tomorrow with a brand new update and hopefully a challenge that I can do. Have a wonderful day/night/weekend. Until Tomorrow!

Wow, I honestly don't have a whole lot to update you all on. Except there is a challenge for today and this one is rather interesting.
The challenge for today is: Character Dating Profile and it's by blogger: Liz Whitehouse

LIKES: Brushes with Death, Being a Hero, Being a "Teen" Mom
Okay, so maybe that is just a little bit more of a joke here's another one.

So, that's pretty much it for today. I know this isn't exciting, but I am having one of those days. Enjoy your day or night and Kick ass at your TBR. Until Tomorrow
Hello and welcome back to yet another post of mine yay!!! So, how is everyone doing? I hope you are doing AWESOME!!! Well, I am here to provide you all with a quick update to how I'm doing so far. I finished reading "Tales from the Secret Annex" and it was amazing every bit of it! I will go into full details when I do a review. That's pretty much it from the reading stand point lol! So, for today's challenge we had to share a pick of our bookshelves or in my case which I finally got it down bookcase. And, I'll add that at the end of this here quick update of mine! I have nothing more to add for today, so, I'll just say that I hope you all are having a fantastic week and I'll be back tomorrow with another update!
My bookcase in all its glory!!!
Hello people and welcome to the 2nd day of the 19th BoBs marathon of our book world!!! Hey everyone and how's it going? I hope you all are doing awesome today or whatever day you decide to read this. I am back again with another update of how I'm doing with my reading. And I'm going strong I'm still reading "Tales from the Secret Annex" and it's amazing with each story. So, far my favorite little story is "Eva's Dream" which is beautifully written and you can take away a lesson from this little story. I can't get over how amazing these stories are written. Better written then my own stories at her age. I am almost done with this amazing book filled with amazing stories, and I may end up doing a review. Anyways, today I have a challenge for you all and that is a hunt through your bookshelves or case, for books with titles, that illustration is apart of said title
The challenge is called: Not a Font and the idea came from blogger J. Lenni Dorner and here is what I have.
I'm sure a lot of people have thought of this book as well, but hey at least I came up with one or else I'll be crying in corner asking myself why?! lol! I am happy to have set aside my reading drought to do this marathon and it so happens to be my 10th one yay me!!! Well, that is all I have for you all for today. I hope you all are still pushing through your TBR and enjoying what you're reading! Until Tomorrow.
Hey everyone and how are you today? As promised I am back this week to do BoBs week which of course is today!!! I'm excited to be back reading and blogging. So, for this week I am hoping to at least read four books. They're smaller size books to start off with to get myself back into reading. Today, I started reading "Tales from the Secret Annex" by Anne Frank. So, far from what I've read, Anne would have been an amazing writer if she had survived. For today's challenge, I had to introduce myself in six words and this is what I wrote: "Woman in crazy book wonder YAY!!!" Yes, I am really bad at introducing myself lol! Before I go here are the three other books I am hoping to get to this week:
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne
Kellie's Diary (e-book) by Thomas Jenner and Angeline Perkins
Steampunk Fairy Tales (e-book) by Various Authors
These are my reads yay!!! I hope you all are having a good book read. I'll be back tomorrow with another update and challenge! Until Tomorrow!
