Ali In Book Wonder

Just a woman that has many books to read and many books to be bought and just to have books. Oh the books that have yet to be read by me!

BoBs Is Here!!!

Hey everyone and how are ya? I hope you all are doing awesome! Like promised I am here to do a quick update of my day. I almost forgot that it was Bout of Books week, but I quickly remembered. So, I started in on my reads; I started reading "The Undomestic Goddess" I've  read four chapters so far and it's going pretty good. So, we had a challenge and that was to introduce ourselves in six words. Mine was "A woman in book world wonder" that's all I could think of! Well, that's all I have I know it's not a longer post, but I'm just getting started. I hope you all are having an awesome day and night and I'll be back tomorrow!

Later Days!

Bout of Books is Coming!!!

What's up peeps? And, how are you all? I am doing great and I'm back with a new post YAY!!! To tell you that next week is Bout of Books week YAS!!! I am participating in my 12th BoBs read-a-thon which is an awesome thing to still be apart of! So, all next week be on the look out for my week worth of adventures during this awesome time.

I am going to share that I will still be reading "The Count of Monte Cristo" because it's a long one and holy world it's a crazy one to get through. It's still a really awesome read so far thou! But, I will not be reading just that! I will be reading two other books at the same time as reading this lovely book. Those two books are: "Twenties Girl" and "The Undomestic Goddess" both by Sophie Kinsella.

I just hope I end up enjoying these books, because I had a touch time getting through the first two books of the Shopaholic series, because I just couldn't with the main! But, they weren't to bad.

So, that's all from me for today! Hopefully, I will get to many more books during this week and month, because "The Count" is going on and on. A lot of craziness is soon to come! Until next week. Have an awesome day and night nerds!

Later Days!

Reading progress update: I've read 260 out of 1171 pages.

The Count of Monte Cristo - Alexandre Dumas

Hello everyone and how are you all?! I know I know I have been gone for quite sometime and I have no excuses, but laziness and operation get life together. But, enough about me I am here to do an update of this here book I am reading.

This is the very first time reading this book, I have seen a movie (2002 to be exact) and read a retelling of this story called "The Count of Monte Cristo as Retold by Sherlock Holmes" by Holy Ghost Writer I enjoyed both.

I am 28 chapters into this book out of 117 (crazy I know!) and I am loving this book. Edmond has suffered for to long, the entire time I was reading this book all I could think of is the musical version of Les Mis! (Yeah, a musical geek!). You know that a story is going to be quite interesting and really good, when right off the bat you meet a character that you are gonna despise and that is the character of Danglars. Oh and two others that of Mercedes cousin Fernand and that darn lawyer person (who ever he is suppose to be I don't care) M. de Villefort. Yeah, they are on my list!!! (Fictional BS Characters)

But, this book so far has really taking over my mind when it comes time to read it. I get so caught up into Edmond's world, that it feels like I am living his world. The chapters of this e-book are pretty short and go by really quick, most especially when you get into the book. I don't remember based on the movie and the retelling on how it ended, but I am looking forward to it again when it comes time.

I am going to end here or else I will just ramble on and on about this book!

I hope you all are having a great day & night and I will be back again at some point lol!

Will be back!!!

Hey everyone! I know it's been a hot minute since I've been on here and there really is no excuse for it. I have gotten lazy again! But, some good things have been happening and I am planning on doing a lot! Getting back on here is one of them. You will have to give me a bit and focus not only on this blog, but, another one, and some personal stuff that I will share later on! So, be prepared for posts about books and maybe a little of about me! So, stick around to see what I got!!!

Hugs to you all!!!

On the Fifth Day of Bout of Books...This Read-A-Thon gave to Me!

Hello  everyone and welcome to the 5th day of the 19th BoBs Read-a-thon of this book world!!! Hey everyone and how's it going? I hope you all are doing well. I'm doing pretty good, just been reading and on youtube a lot lol! So, today of course I bring you updates yay!!! And, I'm pretty proud of myself for getting around to reading and finishing two e-books today. Well, I finished "Steampunk Fairy Tales" today and I decided to start on my next read which is "Kellie's Diary" and I finished that pretty quickly. So, yeah I knocked three more books from my TBR. I am hoping to get around starting "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea", this book has been a mission for me to actually get around to starting it. But, I'm going to start it once I get off of here! The e-books were really interesting to read and I wouldn't mind keeping up on reading the series for both of them. For today's challenge, well I am putting up a white flag, because I am not doing it. The challenge is to crate a rainbow from the spines of the books you own. Well, I don't have many books that have such a colorful spine. So, yeah I sadly have to not participate in this one. Well, that's all I got for you all today, I'll be back tomorrow with a brand new update and hopefully a challenge that I can do. Have a wonderful day/night/weekend. Until Tomorrow!

Wow, I honestly don't have a whole lot to update you all on. Except there is a challenge for today and this one is rather interesting.

The challenge for today is: Character Dating Profile and it's by blogger: Liz Whitehouse

So, for this challenge all you have to do is just crate a dating profile for a character. Here is who I came up with:

NAME: Bella Swan

AGE: 17/18

LOOKING FOR: A 108 year old vampire who is sparkly and cold

LIKES: Brushes with Death, Being a Hero, Being a "Teen" Mom

Okay, so maybe that is just a little bit more of a joke here's another one.

NAME: Elizabeth Bennett

AGE: 23

LOOKING FOR: A man who can provide a challenge

LIKES: Reading, Dancing, Having fun with Sisters

So, that's pretty much it for today. I know this isn't exciting, but I am having one of those days. Enjoy your day or night and Kick ass at your TBR. Until Tomorrow

Day 3 of BoBs 19!!!

Hello and welcome back to yet another post of mine yay!!! So, how is everyone doing? I hope you are doing AWESOME!!! Well, I am here to provide you all with a quick update to how I'm doing so far. I finished reading "Tales from the Secret Annex" and it was amazing every bit of it! I will go into full details when I do a review. That's pretty much it from the reading stand point lol! So, for today's challenge we had to share a pick of our bookshelves or in my case which I finally got it down bookcase. And, I'll add that at the end of this here quick update of mine! I have nothing more to add for today, so, I'll just say that I hope you all are having a fantastic week and I'll be back tomorrow with another update!

My bookcase in all its glory!!!

2nd day BoBs 19!!!

Hello people and welcome to the 2nd day of the 19th BoBs marathon of our book world!!! Hey everyone and how's it going? I hope you all are doing awesome today or whatever day you decide to read this. I am back again with another update of how I'm doing with my reading. And I'm going strong I'm still reading "Tales from the Secret Annex" and it's amazing with each story. So, far my favorite little story is "Eva's Dream" which is beautifully written and you can take away a lesson from this little story. I can't get over how amazing these stories are written. Better written then my own stories at her age. I am almost done with this amazing book filled with amazing stories, and I may end up doing a review. Anyways, today I have a challenge for you all and that is a hunt through your bookshelves or case, for books with titles, that illustration is apart of said title

The challenge is called: Not a Font and the idea came from blogger J. Lenni Dorner and here is what I have.

I'm sure a lot of people have thought of this book as well, but hey at least I came up with one or else I'll be crying in corner asking myself why?! lol!   I am happy to have set aside my reading drought to do this marathon and it so happens to be my 10th one yay me!!! Well, that is all I have for you all for today. I hope you all are still pushing through your TBR and enjoying what you're reading! Until Tomorrow.

BoBs 19 Week YAY!!!

Hey everyone and how are you today? As promised I am back this week to do BoBs week which of course is today!!! I'm excited to be back reading and blogging. So, for this week I am hoping to at least read four books. They're smaller size books to start off with to get myself back into reading. Today, I started reading "Tales from the Secret Annex" by Anne Frank. So, far from what I've read, Anne would have been an amazing writer if she had survived. For today's challenge, I had to introduce myself in six words and this is what I wrote: "Woman in crazy book wonder YAY!!!" Yes, I am really bad at introducing myself lol! Before I go here are the three other books I am hoping to get to this week:

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne

Kellie's Diary (e-book) by Thomas Jenner and Angeline Perkins

Steampunk Fairy Tales (e-book) by Various Authors

These are my reads yay!!! I hope you all are having a good book read. I'll be back tomorrow with another update and challenge! Until Tomorrow!

BoBs 19 and Other Stuff

Hey everyone! How are you all? I hope you all are doing awesome and kicking some reading butt!!! I know it's been such a long time since I posted anything to this poor blog of mine. I seem to have lost the will to read and post anything. I have tried, but I just push it aside and forget about it. But now I'm going to be back next week, to start BoBs 19 and I'm really looking forward to doing so.I just wanted to come on and say HEY! and I'm still alive lol! Now, after BoBs week I may take my time at posting. Once I get things going here, I hope to start doing it more regularly like I have in the past. I am  not to sure yet. I don't want to promise something that I can't keep. So, yeah hopefully I will get that reading itch back and posting back as well. I hope you all are having an awesome day and I will be back next Monday to start off BoBs week! Til Then

Later Days!!!

Reading progress update: I've read 97 out of 271 pages.

The Last White Knight - Tami Hoag

I will honestly say that romance novels isn't really my thing. This one isn't too bad. The fact that there was instant chemistry between the main character of Lynn and a young Senator name Erik is crazy to read and awkward. Either way can't really give you all too much details. K BYE!!!

A Story that I Ended up Liking

Apologize, Apologize! - Elizabeth Kelly, Jeff Woodman

Hello everyone and how are you?! I hope all is well and you are having an awesome time. I'm doing pretty good at my end, not much to complain about. Well, enough of the small talk lol! And, onto this post that is a book review YAY!!! The book is called "Apologize, Apologize" by Elizabeth Kelly. This novel was her very first and now I will tell you all about it...kind of!

The story is about a guy name Collie Flanagan (yes, his name is from a dog breed). This is from his prospective on how he grew up on Martha's Vineyard with his crazy Irish-Catholic family. A dad(who's name I forgot) who is drunk it seems like 24/7, a mom (who's name I also forgot) that really doesn't care about Collie and hates her father (she thinks he murdered someone!), a playboy of a younger brother name Bingo, a pigeon-racing uncle name Tom (who is the older brother to the dad and pretty funny), and lastly a very rich grandfather name Perry who is the prime income holder for the whole family (which they do not live with him and this is the father to Collie's mother). So, he shares his story growing up.

Okay, so this book had turn out to be better than what I expected. I mean, I went from disliking this book to really finding myself grown attached to this crazy ass (pardon) family. There where moments in this book where I really wanted to deck the mom (more so then ever!) and of course smack Collie for just being constantly down in the dumps. There is a few heartbreaking moments, that had me really needing to close the book and set it aside for the night. Moments that had you laughing a little, and also yelling at the book too. Yeah, I am a crazy reader. But, this book is a totally worth the read if you are up to it. I mean I got this at a used bookstore thinking it was going to be hilarious. Yes, it was hilarious and it was also full of all other emotions. I have to hand it to the author for it being her first novel at the time. It was well written in my opinion, but it is up to you all to figure out rather or not you will enjoy it.

HOLY BOOK BATMAN! I'm done for today!!! I will be back on Monday with a brand new post. Until then, have a kick ass weekend!

Hello! How is everyone doing? I'm doing pretty good myself. So, today I wanted to share with you all my video of my bookshelf tour. It's something different and I think you all might enjoy what I have. So, please enjoy and I will be back on Friday with a new post.

Also, have a kick ass day &/or night!

Review: The Weight of a Feather

The Weight of a Feather and other stories - Judy Croome

Hey everyone and how are you all doing? I hope you're doing well. I'm doing pretty good myself!

So, yesterday I finished this book "The Weight of a Feather" by Judy Croome and it's a book of short stories and poems. While I was reading a lot of these stories and poems, I have come across a wide range of emotions in each story. Some stories were really good and touching. Others, where just down right wrong and horrible. Then, there are the others that just made me say "What the Hell did I just read!" It was just a wide range of emotions that I had. I mean wow! There was one story about a little girl and her rabbit and she was having fun, then the next thing she did was, after getting bored of her pet rabbit. She threw it onto a grill where her father was barbecuing and killed it and she started running around laughing. I mean what the hell! There were some empowering stories as well and they could make just about anyone feel strong. I guess that if you really want to got through every emotion you should get it and see what I'm writing about. It was just wow again!

That's all that I have for you all! I hope you all are having a kick ass day/night and I'll be back on Monday with a little something different! Until then,

LaTeR dAyS!!!

Nanny Returns- Review

Nanny Returns - Nicola Kraus, Emma McLaughlin

Hey everyone and how are you all doing?! I hope amazing. I'm doing pretty good myself, feeling a whole lot better. I got sick over the weekend and I was suppose to do this review on Friday, but since I got sick and I wasn't home for a bit. I didn't post this review. So, let's jump in shall we.

So, of course I will be review "Nanny Returns" by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus

Nan returns home after living with her now husband Ryan (a.k.a Harvard Hottie) and is ready to settle down in one spot. She has a new business that she is getting off the ground and trying to get the couple's fixer upper of a house well fixed! On top of the chaos Ryan wants to start a family and Nan isn't ready. Then, the icing to the cake a now sixteen year old Grayer comes back in to Nan's life and wants to know why she left him. Nan feeling guilty ends up helping Grayer and his brother Stilton with some things. That means coming face to face with Mr. and Mrs. X and it's up to Nan to change things around.

Okay, so this story was really interesting and really had me going. As most of you could tell by my updates. For one, Nan's guilt for leaving Grayer is understandable, but I could see that he was using her and it was so out of line. But, happy to see Nan finally snap on him and make him see straight. Like I've mentioned in the updates there were a lot of minor characters that just needed to be hit with a baseball bat. I was getting frustrated at the problems that a school where Nan works was handling something serious. Why are some people so dumb. The entire time when it came to Nan being at work, I was hoping she would let loose on these people and tell them how it is, but nope not once. It's understanding giving that this is her job and she doesn't want to screw it up. But, still if this is how some people are in real life, then damn I am so glad I'm not around them, because I would probably hurt a lot of them. Nan, I know wants to help out Grayer so much, but when you see that they don't want it, then you have to back away. This book just made me mad a lot and it just hurts to know that there are people in real life who are like some of these characters. It's very eye opening again and I like that very much. I could go on some more, but really I think that you all should read this if you haven't and see where I'm coming from.

So, that's it from me, I know I sound all over the place. I was just going with the flow of things! I will be back on Friday with another post. I hope you all are having an awesome day/night and I'll write to all later.

Reading progress update: I've read 220 out of 305 pages.

Nanny Returns - Nicola Kraus, Emma McLaughlin

I am pretty deep in this book and well so far I just want to do some damage. There are a lot of minor characters that I would love to take a baseball to (I know harsh as ever, but you'll understand if you read it.) Nan is reverting back to her old ways of taking care of a 16 year old Grayer and his brother Stilton. She has to step up her game and really lay it in on their parents again. Book is frustrating and interesting at the same time... MEH!!!
